As part of Peterborough County-City Paramedics, part-time Shift Superintendents facilitate a culture where accountability, initiative, innovation, integrity and communication are valued. The Shift Superintendent provides general day to day leadership, oversight and support to paramedics to ensure regulatory and service responsibilities are delivered as appropriate.
For scheduling purposes, part-time Shift Superintendents are required to submit and maintain a minimal availability at all times, with special attention during the summer months to meet vacation backfill requirements and increased operational requirements during peak season.

- Be the First Point of Contact: Serve as the primary liaison for paramedics, the general public, and allied agencies, ensuring smooth communication and efficient operations.
- Field Response: Attend emergency calls, offering on-the-spot support and guidance to paramedics and logistics staff.
- Leadership and Coordination: Collaborate with other management positions to maintain optimal service delivery and response to high call volumes.
- Diverse Community Engagement: Work across both urban and rural settings, adapting to the unique challenges and needs of a varied community.

This job is for you if....
- Our non-negotiables: You are certified as a Primary Care or Advanced Care Paramedic in the Province of Ontario. You have a valid Class “F” Drivers License or equivalent.
- Experience: You have significant experience in the provincial ambulance system gained by working as a Primary Care or Advanced Care Paramedic. Supervisory experience in EMS is preferred.
- Organization: You have strong organizational and prioritization skills and can balance many competing and changing tasks. You have the ability to work well under pressure. You have a strong attention to detail and are meticulous when creating documentation.
