What does the job look like? 

Embark on a journey through time as a seasonal worker at Lang Pioneer Village Museum, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering an immersive living history experience of exceptional quality! Immerse yourself in the 19th century - wearing authentic attire and receiving training on heritage demonstrations and trades. Throughout the village, situated in various historical buildings, retail spaces, and food services areas, you'll engage visitors with your passion for sharing historic skills and knowledge.

As a casual team member, you'll undertake a variety of tasks, including interpreting history, conducting tours and programming, showcasing domestic skills and early trades, working retail spaces, and contributing to other Museum operations during event days. Flexibility is key, as your duties may range from working with large groups, handling cash, mentoring volunteers or youth, managing fires in warm climates, engaging in gardening or outdoor tasks, to providing behind-the-scenes assistance.

This dynamic role invites individuals to be one of the faces of the Museum, actively participating in customer service and making each visitor's experience truly memorable. Join us and become a part of our history!

  • You are available to work events on October 6, October 25, October 26, December 7, and December 8.
  • You have a passion for or interest in local history.
  • You have excellent customer service skills.
  • You enjoy speaking with the public.
  • You are willing to wear a costume.
  • You can work weekends.
  • You have reliable transportation to the village – no bus route available
